Tallit is one of the traditional prayer attributes of Jewish men. In ancient times, they wore this rectangular coverlet as a daily garment in the morning and used it as a blanket at night. Now men wear it during their daily morning prayers. On the edge of each tallit, it is customary to tie a tzitzit. This bundle of threads woven together is a reminder to keep the commandments.
The collection honours David, king of Judah and Israel. There are many legends about his exploits. During David's reign, Israel became a powerful country with borders from the Red Sea to Damascus. Many masterpieces of world art extol David's strength and courage.
The tallit is made of natural woollen fabric. The corner of the piece features a leather insert for tzitzit. Using laser engraving, artisans created an image of traditional Jerusalem lions and framed it with an ornament. Natural thread is woven by hand into tzitzit.
