Questions Buyers Ask

Q: What is luxury Judaica?

A: Luxury Judaica is Jewish ritual and ceremonial objects made with the materials, craftsmanship, and design language of luxury goods. Sterling silver, Italian leather, python, bronze, and gold replace mass-produced plastic and stamped metal. The piece is meant to be kept for generations.

Q: What makes Judaica luxury rather than ordinary?

A: Material quality, hand-finishing, proportion, symbolism, and intent. A $30 kippah lasts a year. A $400 hand-stitched Italian leather kippah is kept for a generation. The luxury tier is the difference between a religious object and a family heirloom.

Q: Who is David Roytman?

A: David Roytman is an Israeli designer who founded the David Roytman Luxury Judaica atelier in 2015. The atelier is based in Tel Aviv with a showroom at 11 Greene Street, SoHo, New York. Pieces have been worn by world leaders including Trump, Netanyahu, and Vladimir Groisman, with active collaboration with the late Russian couturier Valentin Yudashkin.

Q: What categories does luxury Judaica cover?

A: High-end Jewish gifts (weddings, housewarmings, business, milestones), doorway Judaica (mezuzah cases), Shabbat table pieces (challah covers, kiddush cups, decanters, napkin rings), ritual storage (tallit and tefillin bags), kippot, and custom commissions.

Q: How much does luxury Judaica cost?

A: Entry luxury starts at $400 (Tzfat-style mezuzah cases, hand-stitched kippot). Premium tier sits at $1,000 to $2,000 (Jerusalem mezuzah cases, luxury tallit, decanters). Collector and full custom commissions reach $3,000 to $10,000+.

Q: Can luxury Judaica be custom made?

A: Yes. The David Roytman atelier accepts custom commissions: bespoke mezuzah cases, kippot, tallit bags, decanters, kiddush cups, pendants, and full Shabbat table sets. Sketch in 7 days. Final piece in 4 to 6 weeks. Numbered and signed. See Custom Made Judaica.

Q: Where can I see luxury Judaica in person?

A: Two David Roytman showrooms: 11 Greene Street, SoHo, New York, and the atelier showroom in Israel. Both display the full luxury collection including mezuzah cases, kippot, tallit, decanters, and pendants. Concierge appointments available.

Q: What occasions are luxury Judaica appropriate for?

A: Jewish weddings, housewarmings, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, baby namings, anniversaries, business milestones, office openings, retirement, and family heirloom moments. Also collector purchases for buyers who want a single piece kept for generations.

About the David Roytman Atelier

David Roytman Luxury Judaica was founded in 2015. The atelier is based in Tel Aviv. Each piece is hand-finished, inspected, and signed before shipment. The David Roytman x Valentin Yudashkin collaboration brought Russian couture to Jewish ritual objects, and the result is a design language that reads as luxury fashion as much as as Judaica.

Two showrooms: 11 Greene Street, SoHo, New York, and the atelier showroom in Israel. Both display the full collection. Concierge appointments are available.

Custom Commissions

Beyond the catalog, the atelier accepts custom commissions: bespoke mezuzah cases, kippot, tallit bags, decanters, pendants, and full Shabbat table sets. Each commission is one-of-one, signed and numbered. Sketch in 7 days. Final piece in 4 to 6 weeks. Pricing is per-piece quote, typically $1,200 to $3,000+.
