What Is a Mezuzah Case?

The case and scroll: A mezuzah case is the container on the doorway that holds a mezuzah scroll. The case is visible; the scroll is inside.

Mezuzah cases come in modern, artistic, handmade and engraved designs, with materials such as silver and leather.

The case and scroll are separate objects. The case holds the scroll and does not replace it. Read Mezuzah Case vs Mezuzah Scroll before buying.
